HubSpot Alternatives and Competitors: 9 Options Compared by Total Cost

Three colleagues comparing CRM options on a laptop, beside the title HubSpot Alternatives Compared by Total Cost

Most teams that look for HubSpot alternatives are not unhappy with the software. They have seen the quote for the Professional plan. HubSpot’s seat price rises from about $20 to about $90 the moment you need sequences or advanced automation, and texting and WhatsApp sit in a second product that starts at about $800 a month.

This guide compares nine HubSpot competitors on what a team actually pays. Prices were last checked on October 7, 2026.

A note on bias. We make BaseCloud CRM, one of the nine. To keep this useful, the other eight are listed alphabetically and not ranked, BaseCloud is covered separately at the end, and the cost tables show the team sizes where it is not the cheapest option.

How we compared them

  • Prices come from each vendor’s public pricing page, checked on October 7, 2026. Where a vendor’s page would not show us US dollar prices, we used recently published pricing guides. The sources are listed at the end.
  • We compared total cost for a defined team, not seat price, because seat prices hide the plan you actually need and the tools you add beside it.
  • We have not run a hands-on test of every product. Feature notes are taken from each vendor’s published plan details. BaseCloud figures come from our own price list.

HubSpot was also advertising an introductory Starter price of $7 a seat when we checked.

Why teams look for HubSpot alternatives

The jump from Starter to Professional. Sequences, advanced automation and custom reporting sit on Sales Hub Professional. For ten people that is $900 a month, up from $150 on Starter. In the first year it comes to $12,300 with the onboarding fee.

Texting and WhatsApp are in a different hub. HubSpot’s own documentation says connecting WhatsApp needs Marketing Hub or Service Hub at Professional level or higher, with a shared limit of 1,000 template messages a month. Texting needs Marketing Hub Professional plus an SMS add-on at about $75 a month for 1,000 message segments, and about $15 for each further 1,000.

Marketing is priced by contacts. Marketing Hub Professional includes 2,000 marketing contacts. The price climbs as your list grows.

The first-year bill. Ten users on Sales Hub Professional with Marketing Hub Professional pay about $20,400 in subscriptions and $4,500 in onboarding fees: $24,900 in year one.

None of this makes HubSpot a bad product. It has one of the best free CRMs available, a very large app marketplace and strong content tools. It means the right alternative depends on which cost is hurting you.

The alternatives, in alphabetical order

ActiveCampaign

Best for: businesses whose main need is email marketing automation.

Price: by contact count. At 1,000 contacts on annual billing the plans cost about $15 (Starter), $49 (Plus), $79 (Pro) and $145 (Enterprise) a month. At 5,000 contacts those rise to about $79, $145, $205 and $375.

Better than HubSpot at: marketing automation at a fraction of the price of Marketing Hub Professional.

Watch out for: the sales pipeline is an add-on, and like HubSpot, the bill grows with your list.

Close

Best for: inside sales teams that live on the phone.

Price: Solo is $9 a month on annual billing. Team plans are Essentials ($35 a seat), Growth ($99) and Scale ($139), or $49, $109 and $149 month to month. Calling costs about $0.02 a minute and numbers start at about $1 a month.

Better than HubSpot at: calling, texting and email are native, with a power dialer on Growth and a predictive dialer on Scale.

Watch out for: automated workflows start on the Growth plan, and there is no marketing suite.

Freshsales

Best for: small teams that want phone, email and chat built in at a low per-user price.

Price: $9 (Growth), $39 (Pro) and $59 (Enterprise) a user per month on annual billing, with a free plan for up to three users.

Better than HubSpot at: a built-in dialer and sales sequences for less than half the price of Sales Hub Professional.

Watch out for: multiple pipelines and territory management start on Pro, call minutes are billed separately, and AI agent sessions are a paid add-on at $49 per 100 sessions.

GoHighLevel

Best for: marketing agencies that resell software to their clients.

Price: a flat $97 (Starter), $297 (Unlimited) or $497 (Agency Pro) a month, with unlimited users and contacts. Texts, calls, email and AI are billed on usage.

Better than HubSpot at: flat pricing, funnels and white-labeling.

Watch out for: it is built for agencies first, so a single business takes on more setup. Our GoHighLevel pricing breakdown shows what the usage charges add.

monday CRM

Best for: teams that already run projects in monday.com and want sales in the same place.

Price: $12 (Basic), $17 (Standard) and $28 (Pro) a seat per month on annual billing, with a three-seat minimum. Month-to-month prices are $18, $25 and $41.

Better than HubSpot at: flexible boards, a low price, and an easy handover from a won deal to the delivery team.

Watch out for: plans cap contacts and automations. Basic allows 1,000 active contacts and deals, Standard allows 10,000 and 250 custom automations a month. Calling and texting rely on integrations.

Pipedrive

Best for: small sales teams that want a clean deal pipeline and little else.

Price: Lite ($14 a seat), Growth ($39), Premium ($59) and Ultimate ($79) on annual billing, or $24, $49, $79 and $99 month to month. There is no free plan, only a 14-day trial.

Better than HubSpot at: salespeople pick it up in an afternoon, and it stays affordable as the team grows.

Watch out for: two-way email sync and automations start on Growth, not Lite, and email campaigns and website visitor tracking are paid add-ons. See our comparison of Pipedrive alternatives.

Salesforce

Best for: companies with complex sales processes and someone to administer the system.

Price: Free Suite, Starter Suite at $25 a user and Pro Suite at $100 a user. The Sales Cloud editions were renamed in September 2026: Core is $195, Advanced is $395 and Max is $550 a user per month, billed annually.

Better than HubSpot at: almost unlimited customization and the largest partner ecosystem in CRM.

Watch out for: it is rarely cheaper than HubSpot once you leave the suites, and it usually needs an administrator or an implementation partner. More in Salesforce alternatives.

Zoho CRM

Best for: teams that want the most features for the least money and are happy to configure the system themselves.

Price: free for up to three users. Paid editions are $14 (Standard), $23 (Professional), $40 (Enterprise) and $52 (Ultimate) a user per month on annual billing, or $20, $35, $50 and $65 month to month.

Better than HubSpot at: price. Ten users on Zoho’s Enterprise edition cost $400 a month, against $900 for HubSpot Sales Hub Professional.

Watch out for: the interface takes longer to learn, and calling needs Zoho Voice (from $34 a user) or another provider. Our Zoho CRM pricing guide covers what each edition unlocks.

Free HubSpot alternatives

ProductFree planMain limits
HubSpot (for reference)Yes, up to 2 usersLimited automation and reporting
Zoho CRMYes, up to 3 users5,000 records, no custom fields, no mass email
FreshsalesYes, up to 3 usersBasic contact and deal management
SalesforceYes, Free SuiteBasic lead, contact and opportunity management
Pipedrive, Close, monday CRM, GoHighLevelNo14-day trials on Pipedrive, Close and GoHighLevel

A free plan is the right choice for one to three people who need a shared contact list and a pipeline. Every free tier stops short of the automation that makes a CRM save time.

HubSpot alternatives for small businesses

  • One to three people: stay on a free plan. Zoho CRM’s is the most generous.
  • Three to ten people who mainly need a pipeline: Pipedrive Growth, Freshsales Pro or Zoho CRM Professional all cost under $40 a user.
  • Five people or more who call, text and quote customers every day: price a complete system, because the phone, texting and e-signature tools you add beside a cheap CRM often cost more than the CRM.

What it really costs, like for like

A per-seat price tells you very little, because most CRMs keep the features you need on a higher plan or in a separate product. This table prices the same thing on every row: a team that calls and texts customers from the CRM, runs automations, and sends documents for signature.

Where a product does not include one of those, we added a typical tool for it:

  • Phone and texting: $25 a user per month. Business phone services run from about $15 to $35 a user.
  • E-signature: $30 a user per month for five people who send documents, about the price of DocuSign Standard.

Figures are monthly, on annual billing. Call minutes, texts and one-time fees are left out for every product.

HubSpot also charges $4,500 in one-time onboarding fees for the two hubs. ActiveCampaign and GoHighLevel are left out because they are not priced per user.

What the table shows:

  • Every alternative is cheaper than HubSpot’s Professional stack at 15 users. At 100 users only Close and Salesforce Pro Suite cost more.
  • Freshsales and monday CRM are the cheapest for most team sizes. They also include the least: neither has WhatsApp, invoicing or a full phone system with IVR menus and ring groups.
  • BaseCloud costs less than HubSpot at every size, about half at 15 users and about a quarter at 100. It is not the cheapest option for teams under ten, or at around 25 users, where Pipedrive and Zoho cost less.
  • Above 60 users, BaseCloud is the cheapest row in the table, because its top plan has no user limit.

Where BaseCloud CRM fits

BaseCloud is our product, so read this section as the vendor’s view.

BaseCloud CRM has one subscription with every feature on every plan. That includes a built-in phone system with call recording, transcription and AI call summaries, two-way business texting with US 10DLC registration handled for you, a WhatsApp shared inbox, Gmail and Microsoft 365 sync, quotes and invoices, e-signature, and a visual workflow builder with 15 triggers and 49 actions.

PlanMonthlyYearlyUsersCost per user on yearly billing
Foundation$699$6,9905$117
Growth$1,299$12,99015$72
Dominate$2,999$29,990Unlimited$62 at 40 users, $25 at 100

Usage is billed separately at published rates: $0.14 a minute for calls, including recording and transcription, $0.02 a text and $10 a month per phone number. Onboarding is a one-time $1,500, waived on a two-year commitment.

Choose it over HubSpot if your team sells and serves customers by phone, text and WhatsApp, and you want one bill with nothing held back for a higher tier.

Choose something else if you are one or two people, you need HubSpot’s content, blogging and SEO tools, or you depend on apps from a large marketplace.

Our direct BaseCloud vs HubSpot comparison goes feature by feature.

How to choose

  1. Write down why you are leaving. Price, complexity or a missing feature each point to a different product.
  2. List the tools you pay for beside your CRM. Phone system, texting, e-signature, invoicing and scheduling. Add them to the seat price before you compare.
  3. Price it at next year’s team size. Per-seat and per-contact pricing both rise with growth.
  4. Check the contract. Ask about onboarding fees, minimum seats and whether you can pay monthly.
  5. Test with real work. Run one live lead from first call to paid invoice during the trial.

Switching from HubSpot: a short checklist

  1. Export contacts, companies, deals, tickets and notes to CSV.
  2. Save your email templates, sequences and form fields.
  3. List every active workflow and what triggers it.
  4. Note which website forms and ad accounts feed HubSpot.
  5. Check your renewal date. Professional and Enterprise plans are usually annual contracts.
  6. Run both systems side by side for two weeks before you cancel.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best alternative to HubSpot?
It depends on why you are leaving. For the lowest price per user with deep customization, Zoho CRM. For a simple visual sales pipeline, Pipedrive. For email marketing automation, ActiveCampaign. For a phone-first inside sales team, Close. For calls, texts, WhatsApp, quoting and automation in one subscription, an all-in-one CRM such as BaseCloud.
Is there a free alternative to HubSpot?
Yes. Zoho CRM is free for up to three users and 5,000 records, Salesforce offers a Free Suite, and Freshsales has a free plan for up to three users. Like HubSpot's free tools, which cover two users, they all limit automation, so check the features you need before you move.
What is cheaper than HubSpot?
Almost every competitor is cheaper once you need HubSpot's Professional plans. For 15 users, Sales Hub Professional with Marketing Hub Professional and the SMS add-on costs about $2,225 a month. Freshsales Pro, monday CRM Pro, Zoho CRM Enterprise, Pipedrive Premium and BaseCloud CRM all come in under $1,300 a month for the same team with phone, texting and e-signature covered.
Why is HubSpot so expensive?
Three reasons. Sales Hub jumps from about $20 a seat on Starter to $90 to $100 a seat on Professional, with a one-time $1,500 onboarding fee. Marketing Hub Professional starts at about $800 a month for three seats and 2,000 marketing contacts, with a $3,000 onboarding fee, and rises with your contact list. And sales, marketing and service are separate hubs, each with its own subscription.
Who are HubSpot's biggest competitors?
Salesforce at the enterprise end, Zoho CRM and Pipedrive on price, ActiveCampaign on marketing automation, and monday CRM, Freshsales, Close, GoHighLevel and BaseCloud CRM for small and mid-size teams.
Is HubSpot worth it for a small business?
The free tools and the Starter plan are good value for a small team that mainly needs contact management and simple email. HubSpot becomes expensive when you need sequences, advanced automation, texting or WhatsApp, because those sit on the Professional plans.
How hard is it to switch from HubSpot to another CRM?
Contacts, companies, deals and notes export cleanly to CSV. The work is in rebuilding workflows, email templates, forms and reports, and in reconnecting your website forms and ad accounts. Plan two to six weeks for a small team.
