Growth & Giving Back
On 6 June 2025, BaseCloud hit the green at Wingate Park Country Club for an unforgettable Golf Day, not just for the fun, fierce competition, and fantastic vibes, but because every single swing supported a greater mission: conservation. This event was a reminder that growth means giving back.
This year, all proceeds from the day went directly to the uMkhuze Honorary Rangers, part of the Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife Honorary Officers. These incredible volunteers are the unsung heroes of conservation in KwaZulu-Natal, supporting the protection of South Africa’s wild spaces, from Hluhluwe-Imfolozi and Tembe Elephant Park to uMkhuze Game Reserve. Their work spans guided walks, trail runs, visitor experiences, fundraising, and frontline support for Ezemvelo’s efforts in Big-5 territory.
A Day on the Greens – The BaseCloud Way
We teed off in true BaseCloud style with sunshine, good music, even better people, and a format designed for both strategy and camaraderie: Betterball Stableford with scramble drives on all holes except the par 3s. From the early morning registration buzz through to the 17h30 prize-giving wind-down, all the teams and sponsors brought energy, intention, and spirit..
Golfpong was the name of the game at the BaseCloud hole. Picture this: golfers using a chipper to launch ping pong balls into cups for a shot at winning jampacked coffee hampers from Heavenly Coffees and swag bags from VisionWorks, including a pair of designer sunglasses. Our branded freebies, treats and playlist kept spirits high as teams passed through our activation station – a hub of authentic connection, chats about the day, what we do, who we are, and most importantly, why we were there. For those who weren’t clients yet, we got to know them over a chip shot and a beverage. That’s just how we do business: through real moments and shared experiences.
Wrapping It All Up
By 17h00, scorecards were submitted, and the clubhouse began to buzz in anticipation of the auction and prize-giving. We raised our glasses to a great day and reflected on what we’d achieved, not just for our own teams, but for conservation in KZN. We ended the evening on a high note with an exciting auction, where players enthusiastically bid on a variety of coveted items from luxury hampers and lifestyle products to exclusive experiences and brand-sponsored surprises. Every bid counted toward our fundraising goal, and the generosity in the room was inspiring.
We then rolled into the official prize-giving, celebrating all the day’s winners across a range of categories. Thanks to our amazing sponsors, winners didn’t just leave with swag, they left with curated prize packs, vouchers, and gifts from amazing brands.
